Hello -
I am Peter

Outdoors at home

Outdoors at home. That's my motto. Whether by mountain bike, on hikes or traveling in a motorhome. My wife and I have always traveled with our motorhome. We have toured all over Europe. We got to know and love freedom and independence.

Travel wherever you want, stay wherever you want. Independently. With everything you need. And that's not really much.

At that time, I was still managing director of a software company. That almost consumed me and my family at the time.

I decided to sell my company to go on a trip around the world. Not in a motorhome, but in an off-road expedition vehicle. Surely that should be like living in a mobile tiny house? I can find a place anywhere in the world. Whether by the sea, in oases in the Moroccan desert or at the Cape of Good Hope. Living in a stone chest (loosely based on the speeches of the South Sea chief Tuiavii from Tiavea!) or rather in a mobile home and also outside? Hand on heart - who knows how our world will develop? Is a fixed home the best, the only home?

In search of the right vehicle

For a long time I was looking for the right motorhome in the heavyweight class of 7.5 tons. Not in vain, but not according to my expectations. Many providers have good solutions, some only have good approaches.

Sometimes you have to put everything away to go to bed, sometimes the interior is so small that you can't last a month in it. What good is a large panoramic window if the space for two people to move around is just 2.5 m²?

In the end, I couldn't find a mobile to my liking. Sometimes this didn't fit, sometimes that didn't.

Okay, I'm happy to admit: I often strive for something that doesn't yet exist without wanting to. Because it's simply better, nicer or more practical.
So I said to myself - the man is himself. Especially as I now had all the time I needed after leaving the world of work. The basis should be the IVECO Daily 4×4 be.

Thanks to my two dog girls Lucy and Bella. They always inspired me with new ideas and solutions during the development phase.

The development

With a pencil and a head full of ideas, I put my first ideas and concepts down on paper. As a trained mechanical designer with many years of project experience, I developed the first model components at CAD level. I spent many hours on the computer for months.

On the one hand, I created something new. On the other hand, I optimized what I had already found, step by step.

The building

Finally: the day had come when the final construction plans for the build emerged from the individual assemblies. With the expert support of an experienced box builder, the first CAPETRUCK was gradually created.
A mixture of exquisite materials, a wealth of craftsmanship, years of experience and innovative technologies gradually made my dream come true: An off-road world travel motorhome thought through from front to back. One that was already much admired and envied during its construction.

Designed and built in Germany, Bavaria, Franconia, Steigerwald.

Name and logo

I have been looking for a name for my baby for a long time. A name that makes you think of motorhomes and a world (journey). Difficult. Until the day I was sitting at the North Cape: with the truck from one cape to the other - CAPETRUCK. What else?

The tree in the logo is an umbrella acacia from my home country Kenya. The crown of the tree bears the continents.
